Find Your New Home
This is the fun part. In today's web-based world, finding a home can be as relaxing as grabbing a cold drink or warm cup of coffee, jumping online to the FSBO Homes Iowa website and clicking on the "Search Listings" tab. It's also a good idea to sign up for Listing Alerts in your Virtual Office. You'll receive instant notification when
new home listings are published for your selected area.
After finding a home that seems to match what you're looking for, contact the
home seller and set up a home visit. If you find it's the home of your dreams, talk through some of the key terms such as purchase price, amount of the deposit, items on the
home that will be included/not included in the sale, and any other applicable topics. When you reach a verbal agreement with the
home seller simply jot down the highlights of the verbal negotiations onto a piece of paper. Keep in mind this document is not binding, but simply used as a resource that can be transferred to an attorney who will author the terms into a Purchase Agreement. The Purchase Agreement is typically generated from the
home seller side of the transaction.
